The Mental Health eLearning Program (MHeLP)
To support the health and wellbeing of our industry, ARV are pleased to announce the availability of Belgravia Foundation's MHeLP program to all workers and volunteers within the Victorian aquatics and recreation industry.
The Belgravia Foundation's The Mental Health eLearning Program (MHeLP) is a free, accessible online tool that supports the mental health of workers and volunteers within the the leisure and community sports sector.
MHeLP is a cutting-edge program developed under the guidance of international mental health and exercise experts. It is designed specifically for the Australian leisure and community support sectors to equip workers and volunteers to support themselves and others mental health.
It is completely free, online, accessible, and evidence based.
Participants can undertake the program when it suits them, in line with their schedules. It is a self-paced learning program that takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete.
MHeLP was developed by Belgravia Foundation, with ARV as a proud collaborator, alongside 20 sport and leisure sector organisations:
Participant Results
Participant feedback from over 2,000 people within the aquatics and recreation industry who have completed the MHeLP program shows increases in:
- Knowledge of how to recognise their own and others mental health;
- Confidence to support customers, family, and friends with their mental health;
- Knowledge of local supports for mental health;
- Understanding the impact of exercise on mental health; and
- Understanding of how to better adapt community sport and leisure programming for those that may be experiencing a mental health condition.
