Become a Swim Teacher
Swim teaching is more than a job – it’s a rewarding and fulfilling career.
Swim teachers provide children and adults with essential skills to be safe in and around water.
AS A SWIM TEACHER, YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE:
- Teaching students of all ages and backgrounds swimming and water safety skills
- Hosting children’s aquatic and recreational activities such as birthday parties, schools, and other functions
- Understanding and adhering to all occupational health and safety policies and procedures to help improve safety for patrons and staff.
- Conducting student assessments
- Communicate and build connections with students and parents
QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL ATTAIN:
- SISSS00112 - Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety
- HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid (includes CPR)
If you wish, you can attain additional qualifications to be a teacher of infants and preschool, or an Access and Inclusion teacher – working with students with a disability.
