In partnership with the Brotherhood of St Laurence, Aquatics & Recreation Victoria is hosting a Cross-Cultural Training Session to help Leisure Centre staff be more culturally inclusive of our multicultural customer base.
DATE: Monday 2 December, 10am- 2pm including lunch
LEARNING OUTCOMES: By the conclusion of training, participants’ expected learning outcomes are:
1. Gaining insights into elements of cultural difference by:
· Having a greater appreciation of how they may present in the leisure environment
· Recognise that not everyone is the same in our thinking, behaviour and perceptions
2. Gaining practical strategies which leave them:
· Feeling empowered to engage effectively with CALD customers and be aware of who these local communities from refugee and migrant backgrounds are;
· Recognising how to treat interactions as a learning opportunity
· With increased confidence to effectively engage with CALD customers and will see those occasions as opportunities to make a difference to those people
