Industry Workshop:
LGBTIQ+ Inclusion, with a focus on transgender identities
December 8, 2023 - 12:00 pm - 3:00pm, Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre
Utilising her professional and lived experience Michelle Sheppard will lead the group in developing practical understandings of the barriers and enablers for transgender and gender diverse people’s participation.
Michelle will deliver a tailored session to address the unique challenges Aquatics and Recreation facilities are facing.
Michelle will:
- Deliver a presentation outlining definitions, barriers and experiences of gender diverse people
- Engage in industry-specific discussion and deliver tools and techniques to support industry
- Facilitate a Q&A to support Aquatics and Recreation facility managers to ensure their facilities are safe and accessible to all patrons
- Discuss creating cultures of safety where all people are respected and valued
