The Aquatics & Recreation Victoria Professional Development Program ARISE offers a unique and enriching initial professional development opportunity designed for early-career Aquatics Industry employees.

Vision

ARISE aims to inspire and equip early-career professionals in the Aquatics Industry with the skills, confidence, and mentorship needed to lead, thrive, and shape the future of the industry.

GOALS

The goals of the ARISE Program are to:

  • Expose early career employees to unique future employment opportunities and pathways existing within the Aquatics Industry
  • Support young people working in front line positions to develop key skills including interpersonal skills, self-awareness and build confidence to be successful.
  • Support young people working in front line positions build confidence, self-awareness and to develop key skills including interpersonal skills to be successful.
  • Increase retention within the industry by delivering targeted professional development opportunities for early career young people.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • Introduce early-career young professionals to personal and professional development concepts, theories and practical applications, including understanding emotional intelligence, building self-awareness, leadership and supporting the development of well-rounded young people.
  • To expose participants to a wide range of career opportunities through “behind the scenes” facility tours and the opportunity to engage with experienced professionals from across the industry.
  • Create a supportive professional development Industry network for young people working in frontline positions within the industry.

The ARISE approach and materials will support participants to explore and reflect on key leadership and management concepts, and to develop competencies relevant for emerging leaders working within the Victorian Aquatics Sector.

Program Content

The ARISE program is for 30 early-career professionals aged 18-25 who are eager to develop their skills and explore diverse career opportunities within the industry. This program is tailored for those eager to excel and grow within the industry, providing the tools to enhance performance and build confidence in their current role, whilst preparing for future opportunities
