The VICSWIM Workforce Initiative has now closed. Thank you for your interest.
This opportunity is 100% funded by Aquatics and Recreation Victoria with the support of the Victorian State Government.
What is VICSWIM?
The VICSWIM Program delivers essential water safety education to children aged 4 – 12. We need to find 150 team members to deliver the program in January, 2023 – and we want YOU to join our crew!
Why do we need so many teachers?
The impact of COVID-19 on the Aquatics and Recreation Industry has catastrophically interrupted the supply of qualified swim teachers. This is having a direct impact on the delivery of learn-to-swim education across Victoria, so ARV is working with the State Government to turn this around and ultimately, save lives.
How does it work?
Once an interested participant registers their interest, they will be put in touch with a VICSWIM Regional Coordinator who will support you to access all the necessary training and preparation to become a qualified swim teacher or obtain necessary life-saving qualifications.
In October 2022, you will be contacted to be placed as a teacher at a VICSWIM Venue for the VICSWIM program in January 2023.
Why would someone teach for VICSWIM?
This guaranteed work opportunity is an excellent way to gain work experience. This will greatly support in gaining secure work as a Swim Teacher at a local Aquatic Facility or Swim School.
